PM Of Nepal Is About to quit after July 22

CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai would be forced to quit his post, following the constitutional crisis in the country and public pressure to that end.

Talking to media persons at Bharatpur this morning, the former prime minister claimed that Dr Bhattarai would not be able to prepare necessary laws for holding fresh elections to the Constituent Assembly ( CA) within July 22, the deadline set by the Elections Commission, and then would be compelled to resign from the post.

"The Nepali Congress should get an opportunity to lead the next government as per the agreement reached among the political parties on May 3", said Nepal.

He added that the CA was dissolved due to a violation of the past agreements by the Maoists.

Stating that federal structure based on single ethnic identity was not possible, he claimed that increasing intra-party dispute in the UML would be settled on the basis of talks and discussions.

Leader Nepal was here to address the Narayani zonal-level party cadres´ gathering at Bharatpur.

The gathering is expected to discuss on the issues of state restructuring, country´s latest political developments and possible way out to the existing political crisis in the country.

Over 300 representatives are taking part in the gathering.
