Mainali finally arrives home

Govinda Prasad Mainali, who spent 15 year in a Japanese jail on charge of murdering a Japanese woman, arrived home on Saturday.
Mainali along with his wife and daughter landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport on a Thai Airways flight at 12:30 pm. Upon his arrival at the TIA, Mainali said, "Words fail to express my happiness being home."

His relatives, including his mother, were at the airport to welcome Mainali home. His mother Chandrakala had an emotional reception of her son Govinda, hugging him.

Security personnel had a tough time, with a large number of media persons, both local and foreign, present at the airport, who were scrambling to take Mainali´s photo.

Mainali is scheduled to organize a press conference at the Union House, Anamnagar at 5 pm today to narrate his story at the Japanese jail and all trials and tribulations that he went through in the last 15 years.

Earlier, he was released by the Tokyo High Court that ordered a retrial of a high-profile murder case in which he was handed a life term imprisonment.
