Ambulance drivers stage protests in Jhapa

 Drivers of ambulances have staged protests in Damak of Jhapa district demanding their security. As high as 36 protesting drivers submitted a memorandum to the Area Police Office, Damak, on Tuesday morning demanding their security. 

The ambulance drivers staged the protest after an ambulance (Me 1 Cha 834) was vandalized on Monday evening by the banda enforces on its way to Jhapa-based Lifeline Hospital from B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. 

Ambulance driver Laxmi Mishra who sustained injuries in the attack is undergoing treatment at B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Mishra has sustained deep head injuries and the ambulance had overturned after being uncontrolled when the driver lost his consciousness.

Similarly, another ambulance driver Dilip Shrestha was manhandled by the banda enforces at Dharampur of Jhapa this morning while taking the patients to the nearby hospital from Birtamod.

NC, UML youth leaders for statute by May 27

Youth leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML have stressed for promulgating the new constitution by May 27 as the term extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA) was inappropriate politically and constitutionally as well. 

Submitting separate memorandums to President of NC Sushil Koirala and Chairman of CPN- UML Jhalanath Khanal, a total of 23 central members of the NC and CPN-UML suggested that the five-point agreement inked for state-restructuring and formation of national unity government should be immediately implemented. 

The youth leaders have also suggested for making multi-ethnic provinces based on common identities and with the provision of taking final decision on nomenclature and delineation of provinces by the legislature-parliament through federal commission.

They have also suggested empowering the local people and communities in the federal system, and responsibilities and rights regarding the administrative, political and development issues should be ensured constitutionally. 

Those submitting the memos are NC leaders N P Saud, Chandra Bhandari, Dhanraj Gurung, Surendraraj Pandey, Shankar Bhandari, Gagan Thapa, Badri Pandey, Jiban Pariyar and Ajay Diwedi. Similarly, those submitting the memo from the UML side are Prakash Jwala, Arun Nepal, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Bhanubhakta Joshi, Yogesh Bhattarai, Dr Bijay Kumar Paudel, Netra Prasad Panthi, Jagannath Khatiwada, Dilli Bahadur Mahat, Karna Thapa, Jibanram Shrestha, Baijanaht Chaudhary and Yognarayan Yadav.

16 yr old Nepali scales Mt. Everest

 A school student Nima Chamji Sherpa has successfully scaled the MT. Everest. Sherpa who is awaiting her SLC results climbed the tallest mountain of the world from Nepal side and claims to be a youngest female to scale the highest peak from the Nepal route. 

Sixteen year old Sherpa, a resident of Khudel VDC, Solukhumbu was with her father Tendi when she reached the top. 

She is a student at Lumbini Academy, Chuchchepati. Both father and daughter were team members of High Adventure Expedition Everest 2012. 

Talking to Republica from the Everest base camp, she claimed to be the youngest female to climb Everest from Nepal side. 

Sherpa started her climb on Friday night and reached the peak on Saturday around 11 am. Before scaling Everest, she had climbed 6,000 meters high Lobhuche Peak.

Sherpa´s teammate Shreya Shah had lost her life during her descent from the peak.

संसदिय दलको बैठक केहिबेरमा बस्ने


९ जेठ, काठमाण्डौं । देशको सम सामयीक विषयका बारेमा पार्टीको आधिकारीक धारणा तय गर्न नेपाली काँग्रेस संसदीय दलको बैठक मंगलबार बस्दै छ । केहीबेरमा पार्टीको संसदीय दलको कार्यालय सिंहदरबारमा बस्ने बैठकमा राज्य पुर्नसंरचनाका बारेमा धारणा तय गर्ने नेताहरुले बताएका छन् । काँग्रेसले जातिय राज्यको विरोधमा आवाज उठाउँदै आएको छ ।
त्यस्तै बैठकले विवादित विषयमा सहमति कायम गर्न चालिने मतदानको प्रक्रिया, संविधान निर्माण, सरकारमा रहनुको औचित्य लगाएतका विषयमा छलफल गरिने काँग्रेस संसदिय दलका नेता रामचन्दं्र पौडेलले जानकारी दिनुभयो ।
धेरै राज्य बनाउदा मुलुकलाई अनावश्यक भार हुने अडान राख्दा राख्दै पनि माओबादीको प्रस्ताव अनुसार ११ मा सहमति जनाएदा समेत माओबादी त्यसवाट पनि पछाडी हटेपछि काँग्रेस संकटमा परेको छ ।

जनजाति आन्दोलनमा गीत-संगीत र प्रतिकार

९ जेठ, काठमाण्डौं । जनजाति महासंघले एकल जातीय पहिचानका आधारमा राज्य माग्दै दुई दिनदेखि आन्दोलन गरिरहेको छ । जनजाति आन्दोलनमा प्रेसमाथिको आक्रमण, स्थानीय बासिन्दाको प्रतिकारका बारेमा त मिडियामा चर्चा भइरहेका छन् ।  जनजाति आन्दोलनमा एउटा अर्को सुन्दर पक्ष पनि देखिएको छ । भिन्नभिन्न ठाउामा भिन्न भिन्न जातिले अड्डा जमाएर आन्दोलन गरेका छन् । त्यहाँ उनीहरुका मौलिक संस्कृति र नाचगानको झल्को पनि पाइन्छ । परम्परागत पोशाकमा सजिएका आन्दोलनकारीहरुले आफ्ना मौलिक गीत संगीत र नाचगान देखाई आन्दोलनलाई सांस्कृतिक रंग पनि दिन खोजेका छन् ।  हेरौं दुईवटा भिन्नाभिन्नै भिडियो । पहिलो भिडियोमा सांस्कृतिक रंग छ भने दोस्रोमा स्थानीयबासीमाथि ज्यादती गर्ने आन्दोलनकारीको प्रतिकार भएको छ

विवादित विषयलाई मतदानबाट टुङग्याउन माओवादी र मोर्चा सहमत


९ जेठ, काठमाण्डौं । शीर्षदलको बैठकमा मंगलबार पनि सहमित नभए निर्वाचन प्रणलीबाट विवाद समाधान गर्न माओवादी मोर्चा सहमत भएका छन् । माओवादी अध्यक्ष पुष्पकमल दाहाल प्रचण्डको निवास लाजिम्पाटमा भएको छलफलमा राज्यपुनसर्ंचना आयोग र संविधानसभाको विषयगत समितिले दिएको दुई मध्ये एक प्रस्तावमा सहमत हुनुपर्ने त्यसो नभए निर्वाचन प्रक्रियामा जाने सहमति भएको फोरम गणतान्त्रिकका कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष राजकिशोर यादवले जानकारी दिनुभयो ।
आजको छलफलबाट मोर्चा र माओवादीले बहुमतबाट भएपनि विवादित विषयको समाधान गर्ने निर्णय गरेका हुन । शीर्ष दलको बैठकमा साझा धारणा राख्ने नेताहरुले बताएका छन् । कांग्रेस र एमालेले भने जातिय आधारमा प्रदेश बनाउन नहुने र अहिले नै संघियतामा गए ८ प्रदशे मान्नुपर्ने अडान राखेका छन् ।

Rupandehi scribes halt printing, broadcasting news


Protesting against the attack on media and media persons, the journalists of Rupandehi, Butwal halted publications and broadcasting of news materials on Tuesday.
All the FM stations, televisions based in Butwal stopped their news bulletin for a day today.
Butwal has 13 FM stations, seven daily newspapers and two community televisions.
The editorial group has said that it resorted to protest as the banda supporters have been assaulting media persons and vandalising and torching press vehicles.
Some three journalists and their vehicles were vandalised in the district on Monday.
