Biratngar remained tense onTuesday due to clashes between banda enforcers and locals on Monday evening.
The Biratnagar Bazaar is tensed after banda enforcers thrashed locals at Pushpalal Chowk in Biratnagar as unidentified persons pelted stones on a protest rally organized by banda enforcers on Monday evening organized by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) and Tharuhat Struggle Committee.
A large number of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel have been deployed in Biratnagar to maintain social harmony, and law and order.
Following the clashes, locals have demanded security by encircling the District Administration Office, Morang, chanting slogan on the protest of banda and thrashed.
Meanwhile, a rally encircled city this morning demanding to make schools area a peace zone.
The rally organized by different schools and organizations related to children encircled different parts of the city and converged into a corner assembly by reaching Mahendra Chowk.
Meanwhile, Marwari community demonstrated at Biratnagar demanding protection of their rights. They demonstrated carrying placards and banners demanding to mention the Marwadi language in the new constitution, enlisting the Marwadi in indigenous nationalities and promulgating the new constitution within the slated timeframe.
