Doti jeep accident kills 9

At least nine passengers were killed after a jeep met with an accident in the mid-western remote district of Doti Wednesday morning.

Of the deceased,  three were killed on the spot, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Bharat Bahadur Bohara, chief of the district police office, Doti, said. The rest succumbed to their injuries while being rushed to the district headquarters, Silgadi, for medical treatment. 

Police said the number of fatalities could be more. The identities of the victims are yet to be established. 

The jeep (Na 1 Ja 2561) met with the accident at Sirama of Phirchain VDC-3 while heading from Sajghat to Silgadi at 9:30 am. Police said some 20 people were traveling on the jeep at the time accident. 

Further investigation is ongoing.
