Justice Bam shot dead

 Supreme Court Justice Rana Bahadur Bam, who was fatally shot at by unidentified assailants late Thursday morning, died during the course of his treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital.
The doctors said he could not be saved as he had already suffered massive bleeding by the time he was brought to the hospital . He had received four rounds of shots on various parts of his body including neck, chest and belly. 

Motorcycle-borne two assailants opened fire on Bam, while he was returning in his car from the Bangalamukhi temple at around 11:15 am, near the UN Park in Shankhamul, Lalitpur. 

His body guard Mahesh Giri and one of his friends, Ramji, were also injured in the shooting. Both of them are undergoing treatment at the hospital. 

The shooters are on the run. The motive behind the attack is not known yet. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. 

Meanwhile, Bam´s body has been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.

The government has appointed a probe committee headed by AIG Kuber Singh Rana to look into the broad daylight murder.
